Opera singer-bass baritone
Andreas Zenios

Andreas Zenios, a Greek-Cypriot bass-baritone, recently performed at the Vienna State Opera as the “Taxi Driver” in Ludger Vollmer’s opera Tschick.He graduated from the ARTE Music Academy in Nicosia, debuting with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra at its New Year’s Concert. His solo engagements have taken him to stages across Cyprus, Germany, Greece, and Austria.Zenios has portrayed notable roles such as “Hans” in the world premiere of Argos Sidiros by Andys Skordis at the Kypria International Festival and “King Balthazar” in Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors at Kyrenia Opera. In Weimar, he performed as “Papageno” in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, while at the Vienna State Opera, he sang the “Man from Argos” in the modern opera Orest. He also performed Mikis Theodorakis’ Axion Esti as a bass soloist at the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Ancient Theater of Philippi.This year, Zenios expanded his repertoire with a small role as one of the “Sailors” in South Pacific during his engagement with the Chor Ensemble at Bühne Baden.
His repertoire also includes Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël and Messe in G from Carl Maria von Weber.As a chorus singer, Zenios has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Salzburg Festival, Vienna State Opera, Graz Opera, and Pafos Aphrodite Festival.
